Meet the Founder
James McClure
Founder, Filmmaker, Storyteller
I built Backcountry & Blueline Media on a simple belief that good stories still matter.
The quiet, honest kind that remind us who we are and where we come from.
I grew up hearing stories of my dad an avid outdoorsman before life took a harder turn.
Addiction left deep marks on my family, and for a long time, the outdoors became my refuge from it all.
Out there, beneath the cool shade of the woods and along the calm edges of the water, I found peace a world untouched by chaos, a place where God still felt close.
As I got older and my time became my own, I began to miss those moments with a kind of prejudice the kind that aches for what once was.
That passion for the outdoors never left. It became the bridge that brought me closer to God, to my wife and daughter, and to countless friends who share the same love for wild places.
Over time, I learned that the most powerful stories aren’t written in scripts or built for ad campaigns.
They live in weathered faces, quiet victories, and fleeting moments too real to stage.
That’s what I chase through my lens truth, not polish.
